About
Rogers Parks Music Venue, From punk to funk and everything in between.
The Red Line Tap hosts music up to 7 nights a week featuring local and national acts on our stage, from our resident band the Mudflapps, to Micki’s open mic and all sorts of great shows daily, we’ve got something on our stage for everyone!

How far back the tavern goes has yet to be established, but we’ve had personal reports of people visiting the “7006 club” and the “Rogers Park Boating Club” since the early 1900′s. “Roy’s” was a well known tavern to neighbhood patrons as well fans to the north of the chicago city limits. And for all the years he ran his bar, Roy was a welcoming host to all who found his threshold. For years, the action-packed pool table at Roy’s drew as many fans as the old fashioned bowling machine.

After Roy Kawaguchi passed away in 1996, the long popular tap was expanded, refurbished, cleaned, overhauled, painted and reenergized as the The Red Line Tap, so named because of its proximity to the Red Line train, its track, and its route name. The bar still hosts many of the old ‘regulars’ from Roys’ days as well as welcoming new neighbors on a daily basis.

The pool table is still here and draws some great contests
We’ve also got some classic 1980′s video games for your gaming pleasure.
Our Current video games are Galaga and Ms. Pac Man

At the Red Line Tap you will often find yourself wrapped up in a conversation over a great selection of domestic and imported beers, as well as classic draft offerings and well poured drinks. The high ceilings and good ventilation insures clear enough air for non-smokers to be comfortable, not that it really matters anymore, because to be in complience with Illinois State Law, we are officially a non-smoking establishment. The air conditioned Red Line Tap is a great stop on summer nights after eating outside at The Heartland Cafe next door.
